Ferozepur : Exhorting the people to end the dynastic rule of the Badals, senior Congress leader Manpreet Singh Badal said that his party would focus on ‘padhai and dawaai’ (education and health) besides other crucial areas in its manifesto for the coming Assembly elections.

He was here to address a rally organised by Guruharsarai MLA Rana Gurmeet Singh Sodhi. Manpreet said that there was a dire need to create job opportunities for the youth which was possible only by providing them quality education, skills and vocational training.

“We want to generate an atmosphere where the ‘heart of the industry’ starts pounding and chimneys begin emitting smoke again’ said Badal in his emotional address. Claiming that corruption, nepotism and autocracy were ruling the roost in the current regime, he said all this would be brought to an end when the Congress comes to power.

AICC spokesperson and former MP Vijay Inder Singla accused certain leaders of the SAD-BJP alliance of patronizing the drug and sand mafia. Sodhi said the people will soon get relief from the government of ‘tehsildars and thanedars’ and the youths would be able to earn their livelihood with dignity.
