Ferozepur : Giving a clarion call to the people of Punjab, Manpreet Badal on Friday asked the people to vote for Congress in the 2017 assembly polls to put an end to the dynasty rule of Badals so that a new era could emerge.

Manpreet, adviser for Congress election manifesto, while speaking at the massive gathering at Lakho ke Behram in Guruharsahi constituency represented by Rana Gurmit Singh Sodhi, Congress MLA, said, “I see Punjab’s changed destiny from the massive gathering.” He appealed to the people to support Sodhi for a fourth term in the coming elections.

Addressing the mediapersons, Manpreet Badal said Congress had taken Punjab out of crisis twice. “No one could expect that the terrorism would be eradicated from the state, but Congress did it. Secondly, when no country was willing to give loan to India and 21 tonne gold was sent to Singapore during the tenure of Congress.”

On SYL issue, he said Modi had double standards. “ Capt Amarinder Singh has put his CM’s post on stake on this issue. Congress has no option except to submit resignation,” he added.

He said the Congress had given me responsibility of writing the manifesto. On Navjot Singh Sidhu issue, he said, “The ventilators and doors of political classes are never closed, it is for them to decide. Neither we are actively pursuing them to join us, nor our doors are closed, he added.

Targeting the AAP, Manpreet said that Arvind Kejriwal’s party stood exposed in the MC elections in Delhi, where AAP could get only five seats.
