Gurdaspur: The Congress will provide tickets to those candidates on the criterion of winnability. While addressing a workers meeting on Friday, Asha Kumari, in-charge Punjab affairs, said that Cong high command had demanded applications from the aspirants till August 8, which would be sent to the screening committee and would announce the tickets on the recommendations of the high command.

She said that Punjab Pardesh Congress Committee was holding such workers meetings in all 117 assembly constituencies and at present PPCC had managed to organise such meetings in 83 assembly constituencies so far. She ruled out any faction in the Congress in state, if any, difference would be resolved.

But on the other hand the Congress workers who were attending the meeting categorically told the Cong in-charge Asha Rani if the leaders would stop their factionalism, only the Congress would win election in the state. She alleged that youths were getting drugs instead of employment by the SAD-BJP alliance as BJP Chief Parliamentary Secretary Navjot Kaur Sidhu was levelling charge of selling drugs against Bikram Singh Majithia who was selling drugs in the beacon light car.
