Ludhiana: Congress will fulfil promises made to people of the state within 100 days of its coming to power after elections next year, said senior Congress leader and former chief minister Rajinder Kaur Bhattal during a meeting at Sahnewal constituency on Monday.

Congress leaders including Vikram Singh Bajwa, Avtar Henry, Gurkirat Singh Kotli Khanna MLA and Gurdev Singh Lapran president of Congress (rural) were present in the meeting.

Congress will not leave any stone unturned to form the government, said Bhattal.

“He has put security of Parliament at stake by showing the security apparatus of the building online. How can such people who don’t respect the security of our country are brought to power in Punjab,” she said, criticising Bhagwant Mann.

She reiterated Captain Amarinder Singh’s claims that a task force will work to solve problems in Punjab.

Addressing the gathering, Khanna MLA Gurkirat Singh Kotli took potshots at the SAD government and stated that their policies were against people. Targeting SAD, Kotli alleged that false first information report (FIR) was being registered against many of its opponents.

Issues like strengthening of cadre, unity within the party, highlighting the nine-year- long misrule of SAD and AAP’s flip flops on Punjab were discussed along with Congress’ ground level outreach in the meeting.

Congress leader Avtar Henry expressed his concerns over rising number of criminal cases in Delhi, highlighting failure of AAP government in Delhi

During the rule of Congress government, there were no atrocities committed on people like those being done in present times, said Gurdev Singh Lapran.
