FATEHGARH SAHIB: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) nominees Santokh Singh Salana (Bassi Pathana) and Gurpreet Singh Lapran (Payal) on Friday claimed that the party had set an example in the history of Indian politics by nominating ground-level workers.
They were here to pay obeisance at Gurdwara Fatehgarh Sahib after being nominated by the party.
They condemned allegations of Deputy chief minister, Sukhbir Singh Badal and others that AAP sold party tickets. “I belong a poor family, live in 1.5-biswa house and my family income is Rs 5,000 only.” Said Salana. “The party has chosen sincere ground-level workers.” He added. He owns a total 2.5 -biswa land.
Gurpreet Singh Lapran said, “I run a grocery shop and come from a humble background. Be it Congress, Akali Dal or others they have gone mad and giving such cheap statements.”
Sources Salana was denied ‘siropa’ by Gurdwara management so party workers presented him Siropa outside Gurudwara’s gate. However Salana said that there was no such issue.
