NABHA: Captian Amarinder Singh said that it was unfortunate that the individual faces overshadow the party ideologies and public issues these days and blamed the regional parties for this.

Captain Amrinder Singh, who was here on Saturday for his campaign ‘Halke vich Captain’, however, also said the Congress party must announce the chief ministerial candidate in Punjab, the way they have done in Uttar Pradesh.

Before the start of the programme, the audience were given a form to fill before entering the hall to list their petition with their name and contact detail. A team of about 20 volunteers supervised by the team of Prashant Kishore helped the people fill the forms and gave them receipt in return.

The public brought up the issues of “irresponsible” and “non-accountable behaviour” of the officers and the leaders mostly. Health came up as a major concern among the audience other than unemployment and injustice in government offices. Many brought up the personal problems also.

Calling Jagmeet Brar a ‘‘fraud’’, he said that he could come up with any figure to defame his family while replying to an allegation made by the expelled Congress leader, a few days ago.

Fielding a variety of questions, Capt Amarinder reiterated his commitment to eradicate corruption from Punjab as he was committed under oath to do that. He said, he would not spare even the Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal, if he finds him guilty.

On Aam Aadmi Party, he said AAP convener Sucha Singh Chhotepur has validated his charges that the party was being run by the outsiders and local Punjabis had no say in it. He pointed out, the way tickets were announced, while ignoring the state chief, only showed the arrogance the AAP leaders from UP and Haryana were exhibiting towards the Punjabi leadership.

Captian also warned of 10 lakh acres of Malwa zone would be adversely affected, if the SYL canal was built. He said he and his MLAs would resign if the Supreme Court verdict is against Punjab. He blamed Akali Dal of inaction on the issue. He said his party would request the public to give them full mandate so that they could solve the issue for ever through vidhan sabha.
