Jalandhar: Punjab Congress in-charge Asha Kumari on Friday said that after coming to power, Congress would reinvestigate the multi-crore drugs mafia case unearthed by former DS- turned-wrestler-cum- drug lord Jagdish Bhola. The senior Congress leader said that Bhola’s role in the case and the involvement of all SAD leaders and workers, which cropped up in the drugs mafia case, would be probed.

She was responding to a media query on Bhola’s acquittal in an old case of one kg of heroin seizure in 2013. “Once Congress comes to power, Bhola drug case will be reinvestigated to bring forth the facts,” she said.

On Thursday a local court had acquitted Bhola in an old case dating back to the year 2013, along with four others.

Asha Kumari was here in Jalandhar to meet party workers at Red Cross Bhawan. She was accompanied by Jalandhar Congress Urban and Rural presidents Rajinder Beri and Jagbir Brar.

To a query that despite ensuing assembly elections just six months away, Congress was still facing infighting, she said, “The party is united and there is no infighting among Congress leaders.”
