MLA Brahm Mohindra threatens stir - Chhoti Nadi cleaning

Patiala : Punjab Congress vice-president and Patiala Rural MLA Brahm Mohindra on Saturday threatened to sit on a protest dharna in case the state government failed in release the promised funds for the cleaning and maintenance of Chhoti Nadi.

Brahm Mohindra visited Chhoti Nadi and its surrounding areas, along with his team of Congress leaders and workers, and take stock of the situation. He said that the state government had promised to release the funds for the better upkeep of Chhoti Nadi here, but so far nothing had been done in this connection. He said that with garbage being dumped into it, presenting an ugly picture, and if no immediate steps were taken than this would become a major problem for the city people in future.

The MLA furthe said that as it had not been cleaned for a long time so the waste dumped there had made the life difficult for people living near it, especially those living in Tafazalpura area. He claimed that even the snakes, scorpions and rats were entering houses of people living in the area.
