Chandigarh : Accusing Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Badal for raising a “bogey” on ISI threat in Punjab to create fear and panic among people, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Saturday said that Sukhbir got exposed on his ‘evil designs’ by none other than his father and Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal, who categorically ruled out any such threat.

“It is ridiculous that Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Badal, who also holds Home portfolio, is virtually terrorising the people of Punjab by raising bogey of ISI threat,” head of the campaign committee and AAP MP Bhagwant Mann said.

Within couple of days after Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal claimed that Pakistan’s intelligence agency ISI was planning attacks on state’s political leaders, Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal on Friday said, “There is no direct evidence about the involvement of the ISI or any other foreign agency in any of the cases, including the attack on RSS leader Gagneja and incidents of sacrilege.

AAP also has refused to buy the theory and accused Sukhbir of conspiring attacks on opposition leaders, including AAP supremo and New Delhi CMArvind Kejriwal

The AAP leader said that fearing defeat in the assembly elections, the Akali Dal chief was levelling baseless accusations against the party that it was hobnobbing with the hardliners. In the garb of a pretended ISI threat, Sukhbir might create disturbance in the state by conspiring attacks on AAP leaders, as the party had emerged as a serious political challenge for Akalis, Mann apprehended.
