Goraya (Phillaur): Jalandhar MP Santokh Singh Chaudhary, along with his son former Punjab Youth Congress president Vikramjit Singh Chaudhary, unfurled the National Flag at the grain market Goraya on the 70th Independence Day.
Chaudhary saluted the martyrs and heroes of the freedom movement. The Jalandhar MP also reminded the role of Congress and its leaders in the Quit India Movement and in making the country a super power among others.
Taking a dig at the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led Union government and Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal-led state government, the Congress leaders said that even after 70 years of Independence people were stripped naked, brutally beaten and video graphed, sacrilege incidents were taking place, terrorism was showing signs of revival and the guilty were not being booked.
