Phagwara : Punjab Congress chief Capt Amarinder Singh today appealed to all secular parties, including the BSP and the Communist parties, to come together to uproot the “communal” SAD-BJP alliance.
He said he had made a similar appeal earlier as well, but BSP chief Mayawati announced to contest all 117 state Assembly seats and the CPM did not respond. Only the CPI lately adopted a pro-Congress stance, he said.
Talking to the media during his visit to Pandhwa village today, the PPCC chief alleged that both Akali Dal and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) were selling ticket. He claimed that the days of the Badal government were numbered as people of the state were fed up with its “faulty” policies.
He condemned the arrest of Gau Sewa Rakshak Dal leader and stressed the need for setting up of new gaushalas in the region.
Earlier, the PPCC chief paid tributes to late Hans Raj at a dera here. He was accompanied by party leaders Joginder Singh Maan, Harjit Singh Parmar, Balbir Raja Sodhi, Jarnail Nangal, Sohan Lal Banga and Inder Duggal.
