Chandigarh : Punjab Congress chief Capt Amarinder Singh today said unsuccessful party ticket applicants would be suitably accommodated once the party formed the government.

The party reportedly received applications from 1,661 ticket seekers. “As there are 117 constituencies, there will be 1,544 applicants who will not get the party ticket. I assure all of them that once the government is formed there will be umpteen options available to them. They will be eligible for appointment as chairmen of boards, corporations and trusts,” he said.

Amarinder said those who would not be able to make it to the final list would be equal stake holders in the formation of the government. The MLAs and those contesting elections would not be appointed to head any board, corporation or trust.

He asked all applicants to work as a team and ensure the victory of the party in the ensuing elections.
