Jalandhar : Aam Adami Party (AAP) Punjab spokesperson Sukhpal Singh Khaira on Sunday came out in full support of expelled AAP Punjab convener Sucha Singh Chottepur and said that if the party has deliberately hatched a conspiracy of conducting a sting operation of Chottepur, then it is an ‘unfortunate episode’.
Khaira said that the expulsion episode of Chottepur brought the AAP graph down in the poll-bound state of Punjab and the party leaders should review this. “AAP leadership should try to find an amicable solution to this problem”, he said. The AAP spokesperson also said that he was flooded with support and emails from NRIs abroad, who have demanded more powers and rights for AAP Punjab leadership. “The NRIs abroad have been demanding that AAP national leadership should repose faith in the AAP Punjab leadership and give them more powers, especially when the assembly election was barely six months away”, he said.
Talking to the media, Khaira also said that of some the assembly tickets announced in the two lists were given to wrong candidates. “The fact was that a section of AAP volunteers had also raised voice against some candidates. Instead, the AAP leadership should change such candidates so that there was no opposition of the party.
