Channi wants session to be extended by 20 days

Chandigarh : Punjab Congress Legislature Party chief and Leader of the Opposition Charanjit Singh Channi on Monday said that the thirteenth Vidhan Sabha session which is going to start on September 8 should be extended atleast by 20 more days. “The government knows this is the last session and there are important issues to be discussed on the floor of the House regarding the working of this government for the last ten years. These important facts have to be brought to the public domain. The Congress demands that the session should be of 25 days so that proper time is given to important discussions and the current issues of the state,” he said.
He also said that the meeting of the CLP will be held at his official residence on September 1 which will be chaired by Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee chief Captain Amarinder Singh. The members will discuss the strategy to be adopted in the coming session so that the ruling government is made to answer on vital issues.
Channi also demanded that Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and his government be charged with committing fraud on the people.
