CHANDIGARH: Aam Aadmi Party’s Punjab affairs co-incharge and Delhi MLA Jarnail Singh, who is probing the allegations of corruption against sacked convener Sucha Singh Chhotepur, said the probe committee had issued a notice to him on Saturday. He said the probe would be completed within 10 days.

Addressing a press conference here, Jarnail said he had seen the sting video in which Chhotepur is seen accepting cash. He, however, said there was no need to make the video public. “When Chhotepur himself has admitted to taking the money, there was no need to make the sting video public,” he said.

Refuting allegations levelled by former AAP leader Hardip Singh Kingra that he had paid `50,000 to him, Jarnail said he had not met Kingra for the past four-five months and whosoever is making such false allegations would be taken to task by the party. On the formation of fourth front led by Navjot Sidhu, the AAP MLA said people were fed up with the Badals’ regime and have made up their mind to support the AAP.

Replying to a query regarding an attempt to rake up the issue of “Punjabis versus non-Punjabis” by the opposition parties, Jarnail said: “It’s a baseless issue and the party’s national leaders, including Sanjay Singh and Durgesh Pathak, were working round-theclock to strengthen the party.”

Condemning the attack on AAP workers by “SAD’s goons” at Malout, the Delhi MLA claimed that with the growing support of the AAP in masses, opposition parties were trying to create fear among AAP workers. SEEKS APOLOGY ON MANN’S BEHALF

Jarnail also offered an unconditional apology on behalf of Sangrur MP Bhagwant Mann who had misbehaved with the media during a rally on Thursday. “We have talked to Mann and we assure all journalists that the way he behaved that day will never be repeated,” he said.
