AMRITSAR: A day before Aam Aadmi Party’s sacked state convener Sucha Singh Chhotepur starts his ‘Punjab Parivartan Yatra’, his supporter and AAP Amritsar zone chief Gurinder Bajwa left the party along with 80-odd local office-bearers.
Aam Aadmi Party’s zone chief Gurinder Singh Bajwa addressing the media with other volunteers after they all resigned from the party in Amritsar on Monday.
“It is because of the wrong policies of the AAP’s Delhi team,” Bajwa said after the mass resignation. The rebels gathered at the zonal office threatened to show black flags to the Delhi observers and party convener Arvind Kejriwal wherever they travel in Punjab. “Our relations with Kejriwal are over,” said Bajwa. “The ticket allocation by the Delhi leadership was unfair and based on money.”
On Sunday, the unit had replaced Kejriwal’s banners from the office with posters reading: “Delhi-wale Bhajao, Punjab Bachao” (chase away Delhi guys, save Punjab). Bajwa advised Chhotepur to support the new, fourth front of former Amritsar MP Navjot Singh Sidhu but left him to take the final call.
