CHANDIGARH: Punjab Congress chief Captain Amarinder Singh said if voted to power, 33% chairmen of boards and corporations would be Dalits. He also said all communities would be given due representation in ticket distribution.
Addressing a Dalit outreach programme, Amarinder said the Congress government would increase the amount given under the ‘Shagun’ scheme to `51,000. He said Dalits will get 300 units of free power per month.
Congress Legislature Party leader Charanjit Singh Channi was also present.
Meanwhile, addressing a delegation of commission agents who called him on Monday, Amarinder said the Congress government would take care of their interests while waiving farmer loans. “The government will pay the entire loan amount to the banks and arhtiyas,” Amarinder said.
