PATIALA: Amid murmurs of his joining the fourth front, member of Parliament Dharamvira Gandhi has said he is against the ‘politics of faces’ and is open only to ‘issue-based’ political alliances. His statement comes on the eve of formal announcement of ‘Awaaz-e-Punjab’ political front led by cricketer-turnedpolitician Navjot Singh Sidhu.
On chances of his joining hands with Sidhu, Dr Gandhi said he would only go with people who could take forward the vision document that was launched recently. “I am open for issued-based politics, but not for personality cult politics. The latter is a dangerous trend in a democracy,” he said.
Dr Gandhi, Dr Manjit Singh of Democratic Swaraj Party, Dr Karamjit Singh Sran of Apna Punjab Party, Sumit Bhullar of Volunteer Front Punjab, Dr Baljit Singh Aulakh of Jai Jawan Jai Kisan Party, Jagdish Rai Sharma of Swabhiman Party, Dr Shailender Shelly of Punjab Lok Dal Party, had unveiled a pro-Punjab vision document recently.
Dr Gandhi appealed to all Punjabis to get on one platform and pursue the issues of Punjab.
