Capt assures workers about right candidate getting party ticket

Dharamkot : State Pradesh Congress Committee president Capt Amarinder Singh on Wednesday assured the party workers that only the right and deserving candidates will get the party tickets.
Interacting with the party workers during the ‘Halke Vich Captain’ programme here on Wednesday, he said, it will be the duty of each and every Congress worker to ensure the victory of the party candidates.
He said, while all the aspirants cannot get the tickets, they will be suitably accommodated in the government provided they support and help the party candidate to win.
Moreover, he clarified only those aspirants will be eligible for the chairmanship from whose constituencies Congress candidates will be elected.
Later talking to reporters, the PCC president said, the party has started the process of scrutinising the applications and these will be submitted to the High Command in another two weeks time.
He said, it will take at least one month more for the party to announce the candidates as Congress president Sonia Gandhi was recuperating and vice president Rahul Gandhi was busy in Uttar Pradesh.
Asked about party’s loan waiver scheme, he said, the government can generate resources for the purpose if it wished so. He said, he had done it between 2002 and 2007 by waiving off all the cooperative bank loans. He said the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) did not take the move forward and with the result so many farmers suffered and many of them were forced to commit suicide. He asked, if the Union government can write off Rs 1.15 lakh crore of bad debts of the corporates, why can’t the farmers’ loans be written off which amount to far less than the corporate debt.
Capt Amarinder reiterated that the Congress government will provide health insurance to every citizen. He said, the medical allowance will also be increased to make it reasonable. He said, education and health will always remain his priority and come what may his government will arrange adequate friends for these two sectors.
Responding to the complaints of large number of false cases registered against the Congress workers at the behest of Agriculture Minister Tota Singh, who happens to be the local MLA, he said, every SAD leader who victimised the Congress workers will held accountable along with the conniving police officials.
Asks Kejriwal to explain remarks of AAP Delhi MLA
Ferozepur: State Congress chief Captain Amarinder Singh on Wednesday asked Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to explain about the charges of sexual exploitation in the state levelled by AAP MLA Devinder Sehrawat. “The charges are too serious to be dismissed the way Kejriwal is trying to do, since these have been levelled by a senior AAP legislator from Delhi and corroborated by some local leaders,” he said.
