‘Include late Mata Chand Kaur, Bargari police firing vicims, others in obituaries’

Chandigarh: Leader of the Opposition Charanjit Singh Channi on Wednesday wrote a letter to the Speaker of Punjab Vidhan Sabha to include the following names in the list of obituaries scheduled for Thursday. The list included names of late Mata Chand Kaur, Bhupinder Singh Dhakki Sahibwale close aide of Sikh preacher Ranjit Dhadrianwala, all innocent people who were killed in police firing in Bargari, all the farmers and farm labourers who have committed suicide in Punjab, all the innocent citizens who were killed by the buses belonging to the Badal family and their close associates and all the youth who have died due to drug consumption in Punjab.

Channi said that the Congress also wants time for discussion on the current issues in the coming session. The issues include drugs, farmers’ suicides, law and order, SYL, power, closure of industry, unemployment, development in the state, Dalit atrocities.
