Mohali : Expelled Congress leader and Punjab Lokhit Abhiyan chief Jagmeet Singh Brar on Monday said that he was not averse to fighting Assembly polls on the AAP symbol even as he heaped praise on Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. “I am prepared to fight polls on the AAP symbol if asked by the party,” Brar, who was expelled from Congress in April, said.
Blaming ‘conservative’ politics practised by SAD and Congress for ‘halting’ the progress of the state, he said that he would work hard to influence people’s mind against both the rival parties. Brar’s Lokhit Abhiyan has offered ‘unconditional support’ to the AAP’s campaign in Punjab ahead of the Assembly polls in the state.
Lauding Arvind Kejriwal, he said: “Delhi Chief Minister is a saviour of democracy.” He dismissed rival parties allegation that he is an anarchist. Asked about his plan to launch a “grand alliance” of like-minded parties, he said it appears to be a “cluttered” idea at present. Brar took pots hots at SAD and Congress for ‘playing politics’ over the issue of Sutlej-Yamuna Link (SYL) canal.
HAILS AAP’S KISAAN MANIFESTO
Brar hailed the APP’s ‘Kisaan Manifesto’ released by the party’s national convener Arvind Kejriwal in Baghapurana on Sunday as a very well drafted comprehensive solution that will lay the foundation for the revival of Punjab’s rural economy and ailing farming sector. “The manifesto has covered the main areas of Punjab’s farming sector and provides a much-needed ray of hope to distressed farmers who are on the verge of committing suicide,” he said.
