Ready to contest from any seat in Punjab: Manpreet

Jalandhar : Senior leader and Vice Chairman of Manifesto Committee of Punjab Congress Manpreet Singh Badal on Saturday said that he has not formally applied for a ticket for the upcoming assembly elections.

Manpreet Badal said that the congress party high command asked him to not to apply for a ticket. “The co-incharge of the congress in Punjab Harish Chaudhary has informed that I need not apply for a ticket from any seat. I am a loyal soldier of the congress and willing to contest from any seat in Punjab”, he said.

The senior congress leader was here in Jalandhar Central assembly segment along with Jalandhar Congress Urban president and probable candidate Rajinder Beri to meet various stakeholders including traders, teachers unions and public for manifesto.

“The manifesto draft would be ready by September 30 and it would be handed over to former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. After the final approval from the Central Manifesto Committee, it would be released in the month of October”, he said.

Manpreet also said that the congress was getting a thumping response from various stakeholders, whom the party leaders met for drafting the manifesto. “We have reached out to the masses and visited different villages to know about the grass roots level problems but provide solutions too”, he added.
