LUDHIANA: District Congress on Sunday protested against SAD legislator Virsa Singh Valtoha for his alleged casteist remarks against Banga MLA Tarlochan Singh Soondh.

Congress leaders said that if someone else had made such remarks, he would have been arrested immediately but Valtoha was not arrested as he is an MLA of the ruling party.

KK Bawa, general secretary of PPCC, who lead the protest in Gill constituency, said, “Valtoha was the same leader who in the assembly stated that he was a terrorist, he is a terrorist and he will remain a terrorist. I fail to understand that how can such a person become a law maker who claims himself to be a terrorist, ”questioned Bawa.

Congress workers raised slogans against SAD questioning the morality of the party.

Bawa said chief minister Parkash Singh Badal should answer its failure to take action against Valtoha.

“He should be answerable as to how a person was still an MLA when he is involved in caste slur against another MLA of the opposition party, ”said Bawa.
