Jalandhar : Former British Columbia (Canada) premier Ujjal Dosanjh said NRIs were losing hope in AAP due to the turmoil in the party

Dosanjh was here today to promote his recently released autobiography, “Journey After Midnight”.

Dosanjh, who was born in Dosanjh Kalan village near Phagwara, stated that after AAP came into existence, the Punjabi diaspora in the West was initially optimistic.

“Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal himself is not corrupt, but due to the recent happenings in the party, NRIs have started feeling that AAP is no different from other parties,” he said. He said NRIs also supported Manpreet Badal’s PPP, but the party proved to be a huge failure.

Speaking about his autobiography, Dosanjh said the story doesn’t only contain his personal experiences but also tell social, economic and political history of the time that he had witnessed.

“I have been a controversial politician as I fought with Khalistani extremists living in Canada in the 80s. I also got assaulted during that period,” he added.
