Now Capt, Jakhar brothers get place in jumbo PPCC

CHANDIGARH: In a please-all mode ahead of the state assembly elections, the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) has appointed Malwinder Singh, brother of party’s state chief Captain Amarinder Singh, and Sajjan Kumar Jakhar, brother of PPCC vice-president Sunil Jakhar, as permanent invitees of the state executive.
The 260-member state executive of the party, which was revamped after Amarinder replaced Partap Singh Bajwa, already has 36 vice-presidents and 96 general secretaries, besides 35 permanent and 24 special invitees.
Amarinder’s wife Preneet Kaur and son Raninder Singh are already part of the PPCC. Two more names have been added to the list of vice-presidents — Gagandeep Barnala, whose SAD (Longowal) had merged into the Congress, and Prof Charan Singh. The list of general secretaries has crossed the 100 mark with the appointment of 20 new secretaries, including Harinder Pal Mann (Harry Mann), Amarjit Singh Tikka and Rajinder Deepa.
Twelve permanent invitees have also been added to the jumbo PCC, including Indian Youth Congress chief Amrinder Singh Raja Warring and Punjab women wing chief Mamta Dutta. Four other women have been made permanent invitees while two new general secretaries are also women.
