Sangrur : Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) Sangrur MP Bhagwant Mann today accused the Badal government of “doing nothing” to prevent farmers from committing suicide. He said Badals had even failed to find out the causes behind these suicides.

Mann was in Sangrur today to meet the people. People shared their grievances with Mann on “atrocities by the police”, “discrimination” against AAP workers in villages and hurdles in getting their works done in offices.

Mann said after coming to power, AAP would launch various pro-farmer schemes. He said AAP would pass a Bill for freeing the village agriculture cooperative societies from the control of politicians by way of nominating or electing agriculture scientists/experts for these societies to make the same farmer-friendly.

Mann said the AAP would implement Swaminathan Commission’s report for providing farmers remunerative prices for their crops by December 2019.
