CHANNI KICKS OFF ‘JAWANI SAMBHAL YATRA’

RUPNAGAR: Punjab Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader Charanjit Singh Channi on Tuesday kicked off a week-long ‘Jawani Sambhal Yatra’ from Chamkaur Sahib.

Channi led 1,000 cyclists to create awareness and mobilise youth against drugs, social evils and unemployment. The campaign will conclude at Takht Damdama Sahib, Talwandi Sabo, on October 3, covering 45km every day, and will crisscross 23 assembly constituencies in the Malwa region, said a release.

The yatra was flagged off by All India Congress Committee secretary Harish Chaudhary and Indian Youth Congress chief Amrinder Singh Raja Warring.

Channi said drugs have destroyed the lives of youths in the state and the situation had further compounded due to rampant unemployment.
