Ahead of party launch, Chhotepur quits AAP

Chandigarh : Clearing his way to form a new political party, suspended state AAP convener Sucha Singh Chhotepur and his team of supporters have resigned from the primary membership of the party.

Col JS Gill (retd), former member of the state media team of AAP, today claimed that the resignations were sent the day (Septemebr 16) Chhotepur and his supporters passed a resolution about forming a new party to contest the elections.

He said they had sent the resignations again via e-mail today. As per the rules, they can’t announce a new party before resigning from the primary membership of a party.

Chhotepur has reportedly written a one-and-a-half page resignation letter in which he took on the party over the way he was removed from the state convener’s post.
