‘Congress not in a hurry to announce its candidates’

Patiala: Congress senior Vice-President Laal Singh on Wednesday stated that the Congress is not in a hurry to announce it’s candidates for the forthcoming state assembly elections and the announcement of the candidates be made after only due scrutiny of the list of aspirants for the party tickets.

Speaking over the phone from New Delhi, he said that the Congress is a disciplined party and its leaders will obey the orders of the party high command as far as deciding of the candidates for the elections is concerned.

He said that as the party is trying to make a comeback in the state after 10 years from the political power in the state so it is taking every step very cautiously and calculatingly.

He added that he has sought two tickets for his family, one for himself and second for his son Kaka Rajinder Singh. However, the final decision would be taken by the party high command and he being a disciplined soldier of the party, will obey the party’s order about the same.
