CAPT TO HEAD 34-MEMBER CONG POLL PANEL

CHANDIGARH: All India Congress committee vice-president Rahul Gandhi on Friday constituted a 34-member state election committee with Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) president Capt Amarinder Singh as it chairman.

The panel, constituted keeping in view the polls, will shortlist the probable candidates and forward the same to the screening committee for final decision.

Prominent members in the committee are Congress legislature party leader Charanjit Singh Channi, chairperson campaign committee Ambika Soni, MPs Ravneet Singh Bittu, Partap Singh Bajwa and Shamsher Singh Dullo.
