CHANDIGARH: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Friday accused Punjab deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal of implicating Delhi MLA Naresh Yadav in Malerkotla Quran sacrilege case. AAP’s fresh offensive comes a day after Vijay Kumar, the prime accused in the case, accused the police of forcing him to name Naresh Yadav.
“Sukhbir must own the responsibility of pressuring police to falsely implicate Yadav,” Punjab AAP convener Gurpreet Singh Waraich told reporters here. Demanding Sukhbir’s resignation, he said Vijay Kumar’s confession is a testimony to the fact that how Sukhbir was using police to target his political opponents. He also alleged that Sukhbir was trying to create communal tension in the border state,
AAP MLA Naresh Yadav said: “Being a law-abiding citizen, I have always cooperated with Punjab Police and am ready to be part of any inquiry in future as well.”
