Chandigarh : PPCC chief Capt Amarinder Singh today challenged AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal and Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal to an open debate on any issue relevant to the state.

Criticising the Centre’s one-day ban on NDTV news channel, the PPCCchief announced to hold a protest on November 9 to coincide with the TV channel’s blackout if the Prime Minister failed to withdraw the order.

Addressing the media, Amarinder alleged that if the authoritarian orders were not withdrawn, his party would stage a dharna outside the Punjab Governor’s residence in Chandigarh.

He said the nation could not remain a mute spectator to this brazen murder of democracy and assault on free speech by the Modi government.

Accusing the Akali regime of gagging the media, Amarinder said his government, once in power, would unshackle the media from the control of the Badals.

He appealed to the media across the country to show solidarity with NDTV and come out on the streets against the repressive orders of the Centre.
