Bathinda : Finally, the two Ludhiana MLA brothers Simarjit Singh Bains and Balwinder Singh Bains late on Sunday evening joined the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).
Before reaching the point, the two held a detailed discussion with the AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal at Circuit House Bathinda.
Coming out of the meeting, Bains brothers confirmed the development with further mentioning that a formal announcement of their joining will take place at Chandigarh on Monday. However, while posing for Daliy Post, the two exchanged pleasantries with the senior leadership of the AAP.
It is pertinent to mention that Bains brothers, who had won independent in 2012, had recently got their political party registered with the Election Commission of India with a name ‘Lok Insaaf Party’. However, the two MLA brothers had recently clarified that the application for the registration of party was tendered months before the formation of Awaaz-e-Punjab with also claiming that they would be an integral part of the Awaaz-e-Punjab and take the further move only with the consensus of the founders of the forum, but Sunday’s development did shroud dark clouds over the fate of the forum of which former MP Navjot Singh Sidhu and former SAD MLA Pargat Singh were also the founder members.
Notably, Sidhu and Pargat are in contact with senior Congress leaders.
Speculations are rife that after Bains brothers having joined the AAP, Pargat Singh can also enter the Congress fold any time as he has been approached by the senior Congress leaders to take the plunge.
Though three of four founder members of Awaaz-e-Punjab having found their way, the future of only Navjot Singh Sidhu is left in perplexity as the former MP is ready to join the Congress but not under the leadership of Captain Amarinder Singh in Punjab, which is apparently impossible to be accepted at this stage.
