CHANDIGARH: Punjab Congress chief Captain Amarinder Singh on Tuesday lashed out at AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal accusing him of “demeaning” the state’s youth by suggesting they would sell their votes in exchange of drugs.
“You don’t speak when you should, as in the SYL canal matter, but put your foot in your mouth when you should keep quiet,” Amarinder said, taking a dig at Kejriwal’s silence on the river water issue.
On Kejriwal’s statement that the Congress would offer the youth packets of drugs during polls, Amarinder said the comment was typical of the despicable mindset of the AAP leader, who had become notorious for his provocative remarks. “First the Badal-led Akali government destroyed the lives of youth of Punjab by spreading drug addiction among them, and now Kejriwal has come to crush their spirit by suggesting that they would sell votes for drugs.”
