JALALABAD: Aam Aadmi Party’s member of Parliament and nominee for Jalalabad assembly segment, Bhagwant Mann, on Sunday said deputy chief minister Sukhbir Badal was afraid of fighting against him from Jalalabad. Mann was here for a road show that received a good response.

Mann on the occasion said he wondered why the Akali Dal has so far not announced the candidature of deputy CM Sukhbir Badal from Jalalabad. “Let the senior Badal announce his son’s candidature from here, if he really thinks I will lose my security deposit,” Mann said.

“The claims of ushering an era of development in Jalalabad in last six years are hollow. Mere low-quality concrete structures were raised in the name of multipurpose stadium, college and other buildings. There was large-scale corruption in this so-called development. The stadium doesn’t have sports coaches, college lacks the staff; thus defeating the purpose,” said Mann. He said despite being the home minister of the state, Sukhbir failed to ensure law and order in his constituency.

Mann was accompanied by AAP nominee from Ferozepur (Rural) Mohan Singh Phalianwala and Gur Har Sahai candidate Malkiat Thind, party leader Pankaj Ranga, besides others.

The road show passed through various markets and lanes of Jalalabad before entering the nearby villages.
