Mukandpur (Banga) : Sangrur MP Bhagwant Mann here on Thursday evening reiterated his resolve to fight the assembly polls against Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal from whichever seat or seats he (Sukhbir) decided to contest the polls.
“I will contest the poll from wherever Sukhbir will file his papers,” thundered Mann who claimed massive support of state youth for wiping out both Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) and the Congress.
Mann held the successive governments in the state responsible for the present deplorable plight of various sections of the society including youth and farmers. Addressing an election rally in favour of AAP candidate from Banga Harjot Kaur, Bhagwant said that it was the system of governance in the state which was responsible for making its youth search for greener pastures abroad.
In a bid to strike a chord with the local NRIs (Mukandpur is an NRI hub of Doaba) he asked if NRIs could be a success in foreign countries, why they were proving to be a failure in their own state.
He further accused both Congress and SAD of colluding with each other to ensure the defeat of AAP in the forthcoming assembly poll in Punjab. He added that the SAD-BJP government had neither any plausible economic policy nor any education, industrial or agriculture policy which could take the state out of its present economic and social turmoil.
He accused both Badal’s and Capt Amarinder Singh’s government of looting the state and filling their coffers at the expense of Punjabis. “While Captain Amarinder Singh chose to stash his ill-gotten money in Swiss banks, Sukhbir Badal has invested money in seven-star hotels like Sukhvilas,” said Mann.
