Bathinda : Congress Vice-president and party candidate from Bathinda (Urban) Manpreet Singh Badal on Saturday said all the last minute political appointments being made by Parkash Singh Badal government to reward loyalists will be reviewed after coming to power.

He said the appointments amounted to distribution of political spoils as barring a few, most of these appointments were that of chairman and vice-chairman etc in various bodies including the state boards and corporations majority of which have been in perpetual losses.

“At the time when Badal government is counting its last hours, such appointments not only lack moral authority but also amount to political corruption. The government has remained insensitive to Bathinda turning into dharna capital of the state with various sections of society staging protests here for months.

Rewards in the form of such appointments are raining on loyalists of the government. This is criminal”, he added.

Manpreet said it was shocking that the government had even gone to the extent of amending various acts governing some boards and corporations to create posts like that of senior vice-chairman to accommodate its political loyalists that goes against all cannons of good governance.
