Amritsar : Cricketer-turned-politician Navjot Singh Sidhu will come for election campaign in the holy city next month after joining the Congress, said his wife and Amritsar East MLA Dr Navjot Kaur Sidhu.
Even as the Congress is yet to allot ticket to either of the Sidhu couple, Dr Navjot Kaur has started campaign in her constituency. She said since Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi was busy these days, he would announce the joining of Navjot Sidhu in Delhi in the first week of January.
Dr Sidhu and her supporters are distributing a four-page booklet. Besides containing the pictures of national and state Congress leaders and the Sidhu couple, the booklet highlights the works done by her in the Amritsar East constituency.
Meanwhile, local Congress leaders have expressed resentment over the likely candidature of Sidhu from the constituency.
