Congress to release election manifesto at six places in Punjab

Chandigarh : All India Congress Committee’s General Secretary Asha Kumai on Friday said that party election manifesto for Punjab Vidhan Sabha election was on the final stage and will be released by former Prime Minister renowned economist Dr Manmohan Singh soon.

While talking to Daily Post on the sidelines of a press conference organsied to announce its anti-demonetisation campaign in Punjab, Kumari said that the manifesto will be released at six places after enforcement of model code of conduct in Punjab.

Apart from New Delhi, the party will release its election manifesto at five places comprising Chandigarh, Patiala, Ludhiana, Amritsar and Bathinda Punjab. While Dr Manmohan Singh is supposed to release the manifesto at Delhi, Punjab Congress leaders including Punjab Congress chief Capt Amarinder Singh, senior party Leader Rajinder Kaur Bhattal and others will released it in Punjab and Chandigarh, claimed Kumari.

She said that the manifesto was been prepared by senior Congress leader Manpreet Singh Badal under the guidance of Dr Manmohan Singh, Rajinder Kaur Bhattal, former Punjab CM, and other learned persons.

She appreciated Manpreet Badal for working odd hours in finalizing the manifesto. “Manpreet Badal is seeking tips and suggestions from Dr Singh in compiling the manifesto. He has held various meetings with Dr Manmohan Singh so that not even a single point is left,” claimed Asha Kumari.

Punjab Congress President Capt Amarinder Singh has already made is clear that the nine-point agenda to be included in the manifesto.
