Chamkaur Sahib : Punjab Congress chief Capt Amarinder Singh today ruled out any change of party candidates. The former Chief Minister was talking to the media after arriving here to address party workers.

When asked about the candidates who were facing opposition, Captain said barely two days were left to file nominations and it was too late to make changes now. He added that the party president had chosen the candidates after deliberations and all party workers were duty-bound to support them.

Denying that there was dissidence in the party over ticket allocation, he claimed that rival parties were facing his problem as 28 Akali leaders, 14 AAP members and nine from the BJP had already switched over to the Congress.

Later, addressing a rally, he lashed out at the SAD and AAP. He alleged that the Badals had spent the past 10 years consolidating their businesses. “I will get all cases of sacrilege investigated. If they (Badals) are found guilty, I will throw them in jail,” he added. Terming Kejriwal a liar, he said the thousands of outsiders he was bringing into Punjab would run away after the polls.

To campaign in Lambi for 3 days

Lambi: Amarinder will campaign in Lambi for only three days, party sources said. It is learnt that Amarinder will hold a roadshow here on Wednesday, the day he will file his nomination. "He will leave for Amritsar on Wednesday evening. He has to campaign for other candidates too," said a Congress leader. Gurmeet Singh Khudian, president, district Congress committee, Muktsar, will probably be Capt’s covering candidate.
