Malout : Punjab Congress chief Captain Amarinder Singh on Wednesday filed his nomination papers from Lambi assembly constituency, the home turf of Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal, and said the fight would be the “grandfather of all battles”.
The state Congress chief had on Tuesday filed his nomination papers from Patiala and exhorted people there to “take care of his hometown” while he takes on Badal in Lambi and give him the “thrashing of a lifetime”.
After filing his nomination paper at Malout, he went to the Badal stronghold of Lambi in a procession and vowed to “cook Parkash Singh Badal’s goose in his own backyard” and “wipe him out” from Punjab’s political scene.
Amarinder said that he would “teach Badal a lesson” for all the atrocities unleashed on the people of the state during the last 10 years.
The aggressive Punjab Congress chief declared that neither Parkash Singh Badal nor his kin would be spared for their “wrong doings” and for bringing Punjab to such a “pathetic situation” and he would not rest till he has “cooked Badal’s goose”.
Asserting that AAP is nowhere in the Punjab poll scene, Amarinder accused Arvind Kejriwal of spreading “false propaganda” that the anti-incumbency vote would get divided.
‘Will throw Sukhbir’s OSDs, aides in jail’
Lambi: Taking the Badal family head-on in their stronghold Lambi, Punjab Congress chief Captain Amarinder Singh on Wednesday said within 24 hours of his party forming government in the state, several OSDs and aides of Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal will be thrown in jail.
Addressing his first public rally in Lambi after filing his nomination papers from the assembly constituency, Amarinder said the entire Badal clan, along with Bikram Singh Majithia, would also “find themselves behind bars” if found guilty of sacrilege and drugs trade.
“The day we come to power, within 24 hours, I will have Sukhbir’s OSDs Dyal Singh Kolianwal (also an SGPC member) and Satinderjeet Singh Mantta as well as the Badals’ close aide Tejinder Singh Middhukhera behind bars for atrocities to which they have subjected the people at the instigation of their political bosses,” he said.
Informing that he had decided to contest from Lambi only to “teach the Badals a lesson”, Amarinder said the day he wins the seat, Parkash Singh Badal “will run away and never show his face again.”
Slamming Badal for trying to “polarize” the state on communal lines through incidents of sacrilege, Amarinder said he would get all such instances thoroughly probed and punish those found guilty.
