Captain files papers from Lambi

FARIDKOT/MUKTSAR: Captain Amarinder Singh filed his nomination papers from Lambi on Wednesday. Captain was declared as a candidate in the last list released by the party. He is contesting from Patiala as well. Congress candidates from Faridkot and Kotkapura also filed their nomination papers from their respective constituencies. Kushaldeep Singh Dhillon filed his papers from Faridkot constituency. Bhai Harnirpal Singh filed his papers from Kotkapura.

Dhillon is in fray for the first time as a Congress candidate. Earlier, he was with SAD and had joined Congress in 2012. Harnirpal Singh was also a SAD leader of Muktsar district before joining Congress in 2012.

Kushaldeep Singh Dhillon is one of the richest candidates in the district. His total assets are worth ₹11 crore 80 lakh.

Jagdeep Singh Brar, AAP candidate from Muktsar, also filed his papers. He started his career as an independent councillor in 2002. He was member of SAD but later shifted to People’s Party of Punjab (PPP) and then joined AAP in 2015.
