Several senior BJP, AAP and SAD leaders join Congress

Amritsar : Giving a major jolt to their respective parties, around four dozen leaders from SAD, BJP and AAP joined the Punjab Congress on Thursday in the presence of Punjab Congress President Captain Amarinder Singh.

Among those who joined the party was Krishan Sharma, who had been associated with BJP and RSS for four decades before quitting the party in 2014 to contest the Lok Sabha election from Amritsar as Nav Bharat Democratic party candidate. AAP Majha Media Incharge Gurbhej Singh along with several other AAP leaders also joined Congress.

Other prominent joinees from Amritsar included BJP Ex-Councillors Sukhdev Singh Chahal and Bhawna, former BJP Women Wing general secretary Gulshan Sharma and AAP leaders from Patti, Roshan Lal and Satnam Singh.

Washington : The Indian-American community in the US has urged the Trump administration to “fully support” India’s decision to revoke the constitutional provision that accorded special status to Jammu and Kashmir and to continue to exert pressure on Pakistan to end its support to cross-border terrorism.
