LUDHIANA: A Bihar legislator and many NRIs on Tuesday joined the campaign of Congress candidate of Ludhiana South, Bhupinder Singh Sidhu. The campaign saw a motorcycle rally taken out by the party candidate, in which hundreds of people on motorcycles and scooters participated. The rally started from Sherpur Chowk and after crisscrossing the constituency, concluded in Lohara village.

Among those in the rally included Amit Kumar Dhunna, who is the member of Bihar legislative assembly. Dhunna said that he along with several party colleagues and legislators had travelled all the way from Bihar to campaign for the party in Punjab.

He said there are a considerable number of people from Bihar who are settled in Ludhiana South assembly segment. He said, “They are all supporters of the Congress. They have a good rapport and association with Bhupinder Sidhu as he had worked for so many years in the area.”

The rally also included several NRIs like Happy Deol from Canada. He said, “I have travelled all the way to campaign for Sidhu. Ludhiana South is all the more important for us, since Sidhu has spent considerable time in Canada and is familiar with the issues concerning the NRIs.”
