BARNALA:“If these 40 members of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) from Delhi will rule us, they will be the kaale angrez for Punjabis,” said Congress star campaigner Navjot Singh Sidhu, while addressing a rally in Tapa Mandi on Tuesday, in favour of Congress candidate Joginder Singh from Bhadaur constituency.

“The AAP national convenor and Delhi chief minister (CM) Arvind Kejriwal is nurturing an ambition of becoming the chief minister of Punjab,” Sidhu added.

Sidhu said, “If these Kaale angrez succeed in their evil designs, they will rule us through remote control. And we will be puppets in their hands.”

“Congress has already declared its chief ministerial candidate, even though AAP is clear on Kejriwal’s name for this post but the party is not declaring it,” said Sidhu.

“Initially, I was not offered MLA ticket, but when AAP leaders came to know about my programme of joining Congress, they offered me the post of deputy CM. Three leaders of AAP advised me to accept the post for one year and then get elevated as the CM, as Kejriwal will then be going to Gujarat,” said Sidhu.

“AAP has given only 1,417 jobs in Delhi; and here they are promising 25 lakh jobs. Has Kejriwal given free wi-fi in Delhi? Did he get former Delhi CM arrested? He is the mastermind in offering lollipops,” accused Sidhu.

Taking potshots at the SAD and AAP leaders, he said, “Badals are minting money from their businesses at the cost of the state exchequer. Instead of any administrative and organisational set up, the working of AAP revolves around Kejriwal only.”

“On the other hand, Congress has been here for 70 years now, and you can trust the party,” he said.

Congress candidate Joginder Singh said, “The ruling government is anti-farmer and antibusinessman. And, during their tenure, they have continued to encroach upon different things, including our rights. We shall strive to provide you a transparent governance.”
