LUDHIANA MP SAYS MAUR ‘ATTACK’ ATTEMPT TO STOP CONG SURGE, PUSH PUNJAB BACK INTO DARK DAYS.
FEROZEPUR: Ravneet Singh Bittu, Congress MP from Ludhiana who is contesting the assembly elections from Jalalabad, on Wednesday alleged the Maur bomb blast at Maur was rooted in the policy of appeasement being resorted to by Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal in Punjab for his vested political interests.
Bittu said this “cowardly” attack was targeted at Congress candidate from Maur Harminder Singh Jassi and was part of a bigger conspiracy to not only block the Congress that is riding high on popularity wave but also to push Punjab back into the dark days. The Congress MP alleged all kinds of radicals had jumped onto the AAP bandwagon.
He said yet another factor that had vitiated the state’s atmosphere was the “mafia rule”, dubbing deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal its kingpin. He said the situation might deteriorate further in the run up to the elections. He also called upon the election commission to ensure that all people brought from outside the state are directed to leave immediately.
