CHANDIGARH: Punjab Congress chief Captain Amarinder Singh on Monday lashed out at the ABVP for despicable rape threat against Delhi University student Gurmehar Kaur, who had spoken against the student body over the recent violence at Ramjas College. Reacting to the allegations Amarinder said the ABVP and its mentors should be ashamed of their abominable behaviour.
“The girl’s father laid down his life for the country during the Kargil war and she is now being victimised for her legitimate act,” said Amarinder. The failure of Delhi Police to take action against the ABVP, which had unleashed violence at Ramjas College on February 22, has clearly encouraged them to issue such threats, said Amarinder, demanding arrest of the culprits and a ban on the organisation.
