Jalandhar : Condemning the SAD for staying mum on the alleged rape threat to Gurmehar Kaur, daughter of a martyr, by the ABVP, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and candidate from Bholath constituency Sukhpal Khaira today sought resignation of Union Cabinet Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal.

Addressing mediapersons here today, Khaira said Harsimrat had launched “Nanhi Chhaan” project for the girl children, but a daughter of Punjab was being given rape threats by the ABVP, which is an offshoot the BJP.

Terming the ABVP as anti-social, anti-national and anti-patriotic, Khaira said the outfit should be banned in the country.

Accusing the BJP of polarising the country, Khaira alleged that the BJP was creating an atmosphere of Hindus vs rest of the country to get political gain. He alleged that the BJP had been perpetrating violence on campuses.

“Freedom of speech and expression has been violated by the ABVP and BJP. This is the height of intolerance. The incident exposes the fascist thought process of the RSS and its offshoots, the BJPand the ABVP.

He termed the BJP an anti-farmer government as they have scrapped the 10 per cent import duty on wheat, which would diminish the price of domestic wheat.
