LUDHIANA: A day before the announcement of the assembly election results, Congress leader Manpreet Singh Badal expressed hope that the Congress will get considerable majority to form the next government.
Congress leader Manpreet Singh Badal (third from Left) releasing the book in Ludhiana on Friday.
Manpreet Singh Badal visited to release a book 'History of ‘Khangura surname and Latala village' at Hotel Park Plaza in Ludhiana on Friday. While talking to mediapersons, Manpreet claimed that he is not an astrologer to predict actual results but he is sure of Congress victory.
As surveys show SAD-BJP’s possible rout in Punjab, Manpreet blamed ‘sins’ of deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal are responsible for it.
“It is for the first time since 1962, Akalis will not touch double digit as per the surveys. Badals and Majithia have looted Punjab the way not even British did,” he claimed. “In our childhood we used to hear about mafias in Bihar but now the mafias are running in Punjab even,” he added.
“When Congress forms the government, they will bring a new law ‘conflict of interest under which no MLA can run any business related to departments he is looking after. And if any MLA is found doing such business, action will be initiated against him. Besides, every MLA will have to reveal details about his assets every year,” Manpreet claimed. Assuring to end VIP culture, including beacons, choppers, security and foundation stone ceremonies, Manpreet said that people will see the end of VIP culture when Congress comes to power. Manpreet released the book during an event organised by former Congress MLA Jassi Khangura.
