CHANDIGARH: The Punjab government on Tuesday appointed Bharat Inder Singh Chahal as adviser to chief minister Captain Amarinder Singh in the rank of minister of state.
He was the media adviser to Amarinder when he was the chief minister from 2002 to 2007.
After the Congress was defeated in the 2007 election, Amarinder and Chahal faced vigilance cases registered by Parkash Singh Badal-led SAD government.
The government also appointed retired inspector general of police Khubi Ram as the CM’s security adviser.
